Love Journal Page for Art Anthology

Good evening everyone! The below is a project I created for Art Anthology and that posted on their blog yesterday.  We were given a them of "words of positive affirmation".  When I saw the “Where there is love, there is no darkness” sentiment on a stamp set, I knew that is what I wanted to work with this month.

True love does indeed chase away the darkness. Check out my Snapguide to see how I created this beautiful page, along with the list of supplies:

Now that you have seen the process, here are a few closeups:

Friendship Journal Page for Technique Junkies

Good morning fellow Junkies!  I've created a journal page for you today using one of the great background stamps Technique Junkies carries.  In this case, I turned it into my focal point.

1)  Spray your journal page with Art Anthology Salted Caramel Colorations.  Blot well then spray with Barbie Colorations.  This page had some overspray from another one I did and I think it looks just fine (colors oversprayed were Peacock Feathers and Wild Orchid).
2)  Stamp Peonies in black ink.
3)  Using a heavy hand, highlight areas of the flowers with Art Anthology Ferrari Sorbet.  You want to follow the contours set by the stamped image.
4)  Using a black art pencil, definte the outline of the stamped image.  Smudge slightly.
5)  Stencil around the image using Gold Metal Effects and the Blocked Stencil.
6)  Using a black art pencil, darken the shaded areas of the Peonies to better define the flower.
7)  Mix a little Matte Gel Medium with Minnie Pearl Prills and "paint" onto the page.
8)  Add "FRIENDSHIP" at the bottom (from a vellum quote), and a burlap butterly (mine was colored with Gold Dust, Indulgence, and Stargazer Minx, a new product not currently released).

I hope you had a Merry Christmas and I wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Until later..........

Merry Christmas Santa

This is a project I did for Technique Junkies.  I wanted to create a Christmas tag since it's so close and I love these stamps.  In fact, this tag is being turned into an ornament and will hang on the Christmas tree where I work.

1)  Stamp Winter Foliage onto tag with a mixture of Tomato Sauce and Snowy Evergreen ink.  You can use a deep red and and a deep forest green if you don't have the exact colors.  Emboss with clear embossing powder.
2)  Stamp Father Christmas with Tomato Sauce and Snowy Evergreen.  Paint all white parts like the cuffs of his robe and the fur on his hat by dabbing Art Anthology Frost Sorbet. You want it to look fluffy.
3)  Paint the berries on the Winter Foliage with Art Anthology Ferrari Sorbet.  Dry well.
4)  Spray tag with Art Anthology Granny Smith and Avocado Colorations.  Dry slightly then wipe off excess.  The embossed areas and the areas painted with Ferrari will resist the spray.
5)  Stamp Merry Christmas 2 with black Versafine ink and emboss with green embossing powder.
6)  Adhere Santa and Merry Christmas to the tag.  Outline Santa with sparkly green ribbon.
7)  Top off with a wooden star that has been covered in silver glitter.

I hope you enjoyed today's tag.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Ornament Mixed Media Card for Technique Junkies

Good morning everyone!  I love using Mixed Media Cards, which are geared toward Project Life.  I don't "do" Project Life, but I find them perfect in an of themselves.  For this project, I used a 4x6 mixed media card made from watercolor paper.  While it can stand alone, it would also look great in your Project Life spread.

1)  Stamp Star Power with embossing ink and silver embossing powder over the entire background.
2)  Spray with Art Anthology Ink Spot Colorations and then wipe with a baby wipe.  The embossing will resist the ink.
3)  Using a die cutter and Sizzix Movers and Shapers Carved Ornaments #2 die, cut out the larger ornament from cardstock.
4)  Spray the ornament with Art Anthology Granny Smith Colorations and dry thoroughly.  Give it a spritz of Gilded Gold Fairy Dust.
5)  Tap out a little bit of Art Anthology Ferrari Sorbet onto your mat and using a sponge, stencil on circles using one of the Art Anthology Orbital Stencils (there are three in the set).
6)  Next, dab on several coats of Art Anthology Silver Metal Effects to the ornament cap.
7)  Place your ornament and cap on the diagonal and glue down (I used my Xyron).  Outline the shape and the red circles using a red Sharpie. Stamp Merry Christmas from the Winter Wonderland Sayings Set of 3 onto the lower right hand corner and emboss with black embossing powder.
8)  Edge the card with black rick rack.
9)  Die cut three stars and emboss with silver embossing powder.  Scatter onto card.

It's done!
Thank you for stopping my today.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Stormy Night Journal Page

Good morning everyone!  Today, I have a stormy journal page to share with you made with a bunch of Technique Junkies Stamps.  Yeah, it's kind of a tribute to Snoopy, who kept trying to write a book.  He always started with "It was a dark and stormy night".  So here's my take on it:

The journal page is watercolor paper, so I misted it lightly with water and then sprayed on Art Anthology Marlin, Sandcastle, and Plush Colorations.  Once that dried, I stamped the background using the Technique Junkies Wasted stamp and Sepia ink.

Next, I stamped the typewriter from the Technique Junkies Just My Type stamp set onto a piece of mixed media paper using Versifine Ink.  I cut that out and adhered it to my page.  Next, I stamped "dark and stormy night" from the Just My Type set directly onto the page with Versifine ink.

I then stamped Dark, Stormy, Night using the Technique Junkies Almano Upper and Lower Alphabet with Numbers set and Versifine Ink.  Lastly, I went around the edges with a black Pitt Big Brush Pen.

I love this page and hope the recipient does also (it's for a swap).

Christmas Ball Jar Tag

Good morning everyone!  I have another Technique Junkies project for your today.  Christmas is right around the corner and I wanted to celebrate that fact by creating a Christmas-y tag.  My husband always loves finding homemade jams and jellies, most of which are packaged in Ball jars.  That was the inspiration for this tag:

I stamped Vortex and then embossed it with Faded Jeans Distress Embossing Powder.  I then sprayed the tag with Art Anthology Rustic Colorations.  The embossing acts as a resist.  I then stamped the jar from the Incrediball Canning Jar Set and stamped on of the labels from the Incrediball Labels in the center.

Next I painted the jar with Art Anthology Ferrari Sorbet to mimic strawberry jam.  I tied a piece of green fiber around the top and then popped it on my tag using foam squares.  I then stamped Merry Christmas on a piece of mixed media paper, sprayed with Granny Smith Colorations, blotted, and then filled in the words with green Stickles.  I also outlined my tag with green Stickles.

Finally, I tied a piece of red fiber into a box at the top.  Easy peasy!

I saw this shoe and just had to make a tag with it.  The stamp is Love My Shoes and it's fabulous.

To start, I stamped the Love My Shoes directly on my tag.  I then stamped the image again on a sheet of copy paper and cut it out to use as a mask.  With the mask laid over the shoe, I then sprayed the tag with Art Anthology Colorations in Salmon and Siesta Key.

Next, I painted the shoe with Art Anthology Sorbet in Ferrari, Cayman, and Leaf and with Velvet in Tango and Lemon Tart.  I then dotted clear drying glitter glue all over the tag and sprinkled with Prills in Gourd-Jus and Berry Nice.

I then stamped Celebrate in Style with blue ink, cut it out, and sprayed it with Salmon Colorations.  I then adhered it to the tag.

To finish off the tag, I added some red and yellow fiber through the hole at the top.

Technique Junkies' 30 Days of Christmas, Day 16

Good morning everyone!  Technique Junkies is getting you ready for Christmas by hosting 30 Days of Christmas from October through mid-November.  Today, I have a card I created using some of their Christmas images.

I stamped Christmas Reindeer onto a pieces of mixed media paper and then cut it out.  I sprayed the body with Art Anthology Sandcastle and the antlers with Glorious Colorations.  I then used Winter Wonderland Sayings Set of 3 for the "Dashing Through the Snow" sentiment.  I stamped it in blue ink and then cut it out.  The two stamped images were then layered on a piece of Christmas paper which I then added to a card base.

That's all for today!  Until later......................

Little B Blog Hop

Good morning everyone!  Welcome to the Little B blog hop.  I've got a couple of projects today to share with you that I created from the wonderful products Little B has.  Don't forget to enter at the bottom of the page for a wonderful giveaway Little B is having in conjunction with this hop!

For this canvas, I started by spraying the background with Patience and Peacock Feathers by Art Anthology.  I then added the second largest label from Little B's Label Die Set, which I cut out of coordinating paper.  Over that, I added a birthday cake I stamped using a Technique Junkies stamps, colored, and cut out.  Next I die cut Let's Eat Cake from the Little B Sentiment Die Set, sprayed it with Peacock Feathers, and added it to the top left.  For the bottom, I used Little B's Birthday Gift Dimensional Stickers.  I edged the canvas with Little B Gold Foil Harlequin Tape.  Finally, I randomly placed the stars from the Birthday Gift Stickers.

I then decided to create a really quick ATC.  I sprayed the background with Art Anthology Peacock Feathers and Grass to simulate the sky and ground.  Next, I added a sun by using Little B's Circle - 1.125 Punch and a piece of yellow cardstock.  The floral border at the bottom was created using their Daisy Floral Border Punch.  I then cut out Hello from the Sentiments Die Set, sprayed it with several coats of Art Anthology Waimea Bay and then added it to the center.  The entire ATC is edged using Little B Pastel Weave Tape.  Finally I added a butterfly from their Butterflies Dimensional Sticker Set and a bicycle from their Road Bikes Dimensional Sticker set.

30 Days of Christmas - Technique Junkies

Good morning.  Over on the Technique Junkies blog, we on the design team are currently working on the 30 Days of Christmas.  I wanted to share with you the project I did for Day 6.

I used several of Technique Junkies Christmas stamps to create this two-page spread.

For the left side, I stamped Star Power with metallic silver ink until the entire page was covered.  I then embossed the stars using silver embossing powder.  Once the embossing powder cooled, I sprayed Art Anthology Timeless and Silk Tie Colorations, blotting between applications until I had the color I was going for.  Since the embossing resists the sprays, all I had to do was wipe over them with a baby wipe.  I then stamped Hope and Peace from the Christmas Word Set of 4 with Deep Rose ink, cut them out, and applied them to my page.  I then sprinkled snowflake confetti all over.

For the right side, I stamped Star Power over half the page with metallic silver ink and then embossed with silver embossing powder.  I again sprayed with Art Anthology Timeless and Silk Tie Colorations, this time concentrating Timeless near the bottom of the page to simulate sunset.  I stamped Whimsical Winter twice: once using Sooty Blue ink for the bottom and the second time using Dusty Lime for the trees.  I cut them out and added them to my page.  To simulate snow, I ran a line of Frosted Lace Stickles along the bottoms of each of the trees' sections and then I scattered more snow confetti across the page.  Finally, I edged both pages using a red Sharpie.

I hope you enjoy this spread and that it gets you in the mood for Christmas.  For more of the 30 Days of Christmas, please visit the Technique Junkies blog at:  http://techniquejunkies.blogspot.com/

Hawk Journal Page for Technique Junkies

Good morning everyone!  I have a new journal page I have created for Technique Junkies using some of the new stamps released this month.

The background was completed way ahead of time, but I used Grass, Warm, and Sandcastle Colorations by Art Anthology.  I stenciled over it with a trial sample of colored Mud I happened to have handy and my Art Anthology Bubbles stencil.  I then stamped the Hawk Background stamp onto a piece of mixed media paper, cut him out, and colored him with Art Anthology Kona and Cotton Velvet and Chocolate Sorbet.  I stamped Live in the Present on another sheet of mixed media paper, trimmed it up, and added it to the top of my page.  Finally, I outlined the hawk in black Sharpie to make him stand out from the background.

Thank you for dropping by today.  Have a wonderful week!

Until later.................................

Here is the hop participants in order:
I fell in love with the IncrediBall Canning Jar Set and the matching IncrediBall Labels and just had to do something with them.  I thought this tag was perfect.

To start, I used a white Basically Bare tag that I sprayed with Art Anthology Colorations in Ink Spot and Juicy.  I then stamped the Incrediball Canning Jar on a piece of mixed media paper and cut out.  I then restamped it on a thin, clear, plastic sleeve (I used an ATC sleeve) and cut out just the body, cutting inside the lines.  I glued three sides of the trimmed sleeve to the image leaving the top open, let dry, and then sprinkled in some Sterling glitter.  I then sealed the top and glued the image to the tag.  I chose one of the labels from the Incrediball Labels Set, cut it out, and glued it on top of the plastic.  Next I stamped the sentiment that comes with the Incrediball Canning Jar Set and embossed with black embossing powder.  To finish, I threaded a piece of orange fiber through the hole and tied it into a bow.

Faith and Love

Good morning everyone!  I have a couple of ATCs to share with you today that I created using the wonderful stamps from Technique Junkies.

I first sprayed my card with Art Anthology Colorations in Wild Orchid, Peacock Feathers, and Heart.  I then stamped them with Contemporary Floral.  I then painted them with Art Anthology Sorbet in Pixie, Coral, and Tink.  The leaves were painted with Leaf Sorbet.  Faith was stenciled in Black Leather Jacket Sorbet.  I outlined the card with a ruler and a Micron pen.

For this ATC, I sprayed the Waimea Bay and Patience Colorations.  I then used the Distress Removal technique (found in the Sensational Stencils CD) with the dot matrix stamp.  I stamped Lanterns and then painted them with Art Anthology Velvets in Tango, Desire, and Fiji.  The tops and bottoms of each lanterns are painted with  Art Anthology Gold Metal Effects.  Love was stenciled with Black Leather Jacket Sorbet.
